Wealth Supremacy is White Supremacy

We’re in the final quarter of a losing game so it’s time for a pep talk. Now’s not the time for name calling, blaming, or “I told you so’s”. Never in the history of “I told you so” has it ever gone over well. Responding to our political cluster F in these ways won’t yield positive results. It’s not going to open anyone’s ears to hear. It’s not going to unite us when a unified front is the only fighting chance we have. Instead, it’ll polarize us and cause people to dig in more resolutely and defend themselves. The 1% are counting on us to do that and I definitely don’t want to give them what they need. If you’ll lend me a moment, I’ll give you a brief history of this nation and why we can’t have money controlling politics and the wealthy destroying the fate of our future, our wellbeing and our freedoms.

 

Hear me out.

 

Wealth supremacy is white supremacy. It’s the bedrock of this nation. This is the “Great America” MAGA evokes. But make no mistake white supremacy isn’t mutually exclusive with wealth supremacy. If you’re white but not wealthy you will not prosper under oligarchy capitalism and conservative right-wing rule. Conversely if you’re a person of color it’s not truly possible for you to have a seat with the wealthy elite. When the elite are overwhelmingly white, people of color are far outnumbered and unable to wield substantial power. They constructed it to be that way. And let’s be real, accruing more wealth will always supersede the desire to help the greater good. Change my mind.

 

Let’s rewind a bit. The Declaration of Independence states that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. The “all men” they were referring to were wealthy white male landowners as it excluded women, native people, slaves and even the white Irish indentured servants they held at the time. Those marginalized groups were labeled insignificant and didn’t qualify for personhood or landownership. And to further solidify this hypocrisy, they doubled down in the Constitution and declared that slaves were property and 3/5 of a person and that women didn’t have the right to own property or be allowed to vote to have representation in government. America’s founding documents were framed for wealthy white males to retain absolute control and prosper while ensuring no one else did. The establishment still operates on these principles regardless of the amendments to the Constitution. We have evolved, but they haven’t.

 

Some 80 years later when slavery was finally abolished the wealthy white ruling class found an alternative for their lost workforce by using prisoners as slave labor. The 13th Amendment abolished slavery and involuntary servitude *except* as punishment for a crime. So, they invented ridiculous laws to target black people and poor white people so they would be imprisoned easily, and the states could then lease them to farmers and private businesses to perform unpaid manual labor. Incentivized state sanctioned slavery. A similar model continues to present day where prisoners work for a few cents per hour, often for private corporations. This is why the prison system never aims for rehabilitation, and instead functions to create repeat offenders. More incarcerated people equal’s more free labor. In November 2024 California voted against Prop 6 thus allowing continued forced labor, involuntary servitude, in prisons. If a state as progressive as California can uphold this modern-day slavery adjacent, it shows how deeply ingrained the hierarchy class system is.

 

Today America accounts for 5% of the global population and holds 25% of the worlds incarcerated people. The “leader of the free world” has the most imprisoned people in the world. This is not because crime rates are much higher, but because the white ruling class have orchestrated the system to lock up people who can’t afford good legal representation and by inflicting harsher sentencing on people of color. If you aren’t white and wealthy, you will serve your time while laboring to build private corporate wealth. Case in point one singular banker went to jail for the predatory lending practices that caused the 2008 housing market crash. He was an Egyptian immigrant. Coincidence or intentional? Roughly 10 million American’s lost their homes, and hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars were used to bail out the banks. The wealthy elite took advantage of the working class, and we bailed them out. History repeatedly shows how race and socio-economic status determines who goes to jail and who commits crimes and walks away scot-free.

After the end of segregation in the mid 1960s, racist evangelical Church leaders furious they could no longer allow segregation in their churches and schools without losing their tax-exempt status, concocted a way to mobilize the conservative right wing against people of color and lower socioeconomic status. Thus, the pro-life crusade was conceived. Whereas prior most Christians felt it was a personal matter between a woman and her doctor, now it became the singular motivating factor in how Christians voted. This is how they got Reagan, a divorced actor, elected over Carter an actual devout Christian. And Reagan, the originator of the “MAGA” slogan, returned the favor by expanding the “war on drugs” to unrestrainedly target people of color and inflict harsher punishments for the very same crimes whites were committing. And more importantly trickle-down economics, aka Reaganomics, where tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations were enacted to stimulate “economic growth” and “benefit everyone”. Spoiler alert, they didn’t. Instead, it created more economic disparity and further widened the divide between the wealthy elite and the working class. This is what they really meant by “making America great again” and the same holds true today. Their aim was and still is to retain the principles of separate but equal only it doesn’t just apply to people of color, it applies to anyone that isn’t rich. In Mean Girls terms, “You can’t sit with us”.

 

The pro-life crusade was never about saving the unborn. It was a ruse to manipulate the Christian voting power to elect wealthy white elites so they could continuously enact policies to disenfranchise the greater American population by widening the economic divide, discriminating against people of color, and restricting civil liberties for marginalized populations like the queer, differently abled, or elderly. If it was about “saving the unborn” the current administration wouldn’t be dismantling the Department of Education, seeking to privatize primary education, or making severe cuts to Medicaid and SNAP benefits. As of 2023, nearly 4 out of 10 or 40% of children in America were on Medicaid. What future do America’s children have without the basic needs of food, healthcare or education? It doesn’t take a mathemagician to see it’s incredibly grim. Abolishing abortion is solely a plot to create an impoverished uneducated slave class of which children of all color will be born into. The wealthy whites have sought ways to bring back slavery since it was abolished. If your pastor or preacher is still standing on the pro-life platform, they are manipulating you in an unholy way to push the wealthy white supremacist agenda of which no part nurtures humankind or honors God. You cannot serve both God and money, but that is exactly what they’re doing. Question your spiritual leaders and consider leaving any church telling you this is why you should vote for certain politicians.

 

These cuts to Medicaid also impact the elderly who happen to be the fastest growing population being forced into homelessness. This amount is expected to triple in the next decade. If you are not yet of retiring age what does this mean for our aging parents or extended family since pensions no longer exist? Social Security isn’t a Ponzi scheme, it’s just not able to support us as a population since we now have a much longer life expectancy than when it was first created, and corporations removed pensions once they realized how much they’d stand to pay out because of this. My father who served in the Air Force at 17 and worked as a Civil Servant for nearly 40 years was even approached to trade in his pension for a replacement that would have left him impoverished at his now 84 years of age and would have left my mother with nothing upon his passing. Currently, there are republican leaders shouting that cuts to Medicaid are necessary because people should have jobs and be working so they’re not “taking handouts”. What of the children pre working years or elderly post working years or the disabled or pregnant women that make up the vast majority of those on Medicaid. Their goal is that we work from birth to death and make them money the entire course of our lives and if or when we’re no longer able to we’re cast off to die. The wealthy elite have convinced working class folks to vote against their best interest by creating false narratives that immigrants and people of color are a burden on social services when most people on Medicaid and SNAP benefits are white. This racist polarizing mindset of “us versus them” is entirely fabricated by the wealthy so they can create an enemy to deflect culpability on. The Bible Belt states voting Trump and MAGA in to power to extract these fabricated enemies is a great example of this. The Bible Belt is comprised of the poorest states in the nation, those in the most need, and instead of being helped or made “great again” they are witnessing MAGA take away services that provide them food, shelter, healthcare, and education. Wealthy politicians work in tandem with evangelical leaders to keep the Bible Belt poor and uneducated, so they’ll keep showing up on Sunday yearning for hope to then be told they need to vote for so-called faith upholding politicians. And these politicians are using Christian ideals as a façade when their goal is to fill their pockets, discriminate against all marginalized groups, and give kickbacks to corporations so they’ll keep helping to get them elected. It’s a closed loop cycle where they use their money to make more money, and nothing changes to help the 99% of us that don’t exist outside of their orbit. None of us matter regardless of race, religion, gender, orientation, identity, age, or ability. And that commonality makes us far more alike than the enemies they wish us to see each other as.

The problem isn’t that a certain race, orientation, identity, or documented status is bringing this nation down. Nor is it a lack of Christian values. If you believe this to be false, please look up the salaries and net worth of republican politicians, Fox News correspondents, and evangelical leaders telling you some group in that list is the problem. Every single one of them are millionaires and part of the wealthy class. They are fueling false narratives and manipulating statistics to ensure we are constantly blaming each other and seeing each other as the problem. For instance there is much misguided judgment and condemnation for the undocumented. There are so many hateful comments calling them criminal when being in this country undocumented is a civil offense not a criminal one. To anyone speaking this cruelly and hatefully know that someday you will very like be that immigrant seeking to flee to another country for a better life with affordable food, housing, healthcare, and medicine. May the way you’ve received others be how you’re received. Let that be your guiding compass. Borders are imaginary lines invented by wealthy men to say this is mine and you can’t have it. It’s petty and giving small mind mentality. How much war, devastation, and death has been caused in the name of ownership and superiority. The entitlement of wealthy men only causes chaos. The entire history of mankind holds record of it.

The wealthy elites have privatized healthcare, medicine, insurance, prisons, and are currently working to do the same with veteran’s affairs, social security, and primary education because turning these social service necessities into for-profit systems makes them richer and richer and keeps us indebted to them due to the exorbitant out of pocket costs. Imagine the outcome when they’re able to determine who qualifies or who can afford whatever prices they set essentially who lives or dies, who ends up on the street houseless, and who is allowed education or remains uneducated and blocked from upwards mobility. It’s giving dystopian nightmare only it’s a true story rapidly in the making. What we are failing to see is that the extreme gap between the wealthy and the rest of us is a direct correlation. The excessive wealth they have accrued is built on the opportunities they have taken from us. They have killed the American dream and dangled its carcass as a carrot to keep us laboring for their wealth. The goal is for their corporations to prosper with our livelihoods as the commodity, while WE pay for everything. They have been pulling the biggest con and we’re still arguing about Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. This is not about political party or ideology; our basic human rights and rights to prosper are a bipartisan issue. The right to affordable food, shelter, healthcare, medicine and education are not something we have to prove we’re worthy of or can afford. We have to stop cosigning their bullshit.

 

They want us fighting nonstop, conservative vs liberal, pro-life vs pro-choice, Christian vs non, straight vs queer, ad infinitum so we’re unable to see how they’re targeting all of us. They’ve deceitfully convinced people the problem is immigrants or undocumented taking jobs, DEI initiatives causing people to lose out on opportunities when DEI policies were in place to help everyone that isn’t a wealthy white male, and that taking care of the poor, sick and elderly is draining our imaginary wealth. None of which is remotely true. They block us from having access to wealth. They have been siphoning it into their pockets and blocking us from economic prosperity by moving manufacturing and production overseas, replacing people with automated machinery and soon to be AI, refusing to pay living wages, working to dismantle unions, and all the while getting their taxes lowered and ours raised. They refuse to raise the minimum wage when so many are working full time or multiple jobs and still struggling to survive. There shouldn’t be any working homeless American’s and yet this is a fast-rising number since wages aren’t enough to cover the ever-rising cost of basic living expenses. They’ve made it a choice between food or shelter. This homeless crisis in a first world developed nation is entirely manufactured and the doing of the wealthy. We could have these things, but they choose not to let us and then spin a narrative that jobs of a certain threshold mean you don’t deserve housing and you need to try harder.

This also helps explains why our population growth is on the decline because people see they just can’t afford to have families anymore. It’s a choice between living ok or struggling with a child in the picture. And how dare women control procreating based on their ability to provide and decrease the ruling classes worker bee workforce, so conservatives abolish abortion to force population growth. If they care so much for families why are they removing what little social systems that are in place to help mothers and children thrive. Why do we have the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed country. Because the for-profit healthcare system ensures that those lacking wealth receive less quality care or care from understaffed and over stretched teams. Your care and potentially your life are on a sliding scale based on your income and the color of your skin. It’s the same wealthy conceived sliding scale as housing. If you fall below a certain line you just don’t deserve these things. Every policy shows that they don’t care about women, children, saving the unborn or building families. It’s only about building the workforce that will continue to make them rich. This is vile and abhorrent and vile is just another way to spell evil. So call it what it is.

 

The current administration has proven that being Christian, white or male didn’t mean they were taking you with them if you’re not one of their millionaire or billionaire boys. Anyone clinging to racism, misogyny, or religious superiority as their ticket to move up in life are in for a reckoning. They planted that poisonous seed in you to control you. The notion of superiority is a rich man’s construct. It was invented by colonizers to wreak havoc on others and steal land and resources to acquire wealth. They sold it to the working class so folks would believe some other group was the problem and would keep voting the wealthy into power to “fix things”. And in all this time, life for the working class has rapidly gotten worse. I’ll say this louder for the petty boys and racist Karen’s in the back, there is no superior race, religion, gender, orientation, identity, age, or ability. Do you really want to keep being a rich white guy’s puppet knowing that you and your family will never prosper in the process and in fact the opposite will happen? Can you instead question the destructive and dehumanizing constructs you were taught? If racism, hate, misogyny, or discrimination are the hill you want to die on, know that it will bring you no ticket up in this life or the next. And that hate within you will never bring you peace, prosperity, or joy. It takes energy to hate a person. It takes a whole lot more to hate entire groups of people. Hate is a cancer that feeds on anger, hostility, and violence all of which contribute to elevated levels of cortisol which is linked to heart disease and a host of other health problems. Is that what you want for yourself or to pass down to your children? If your answer is still yes then I’m afraid you’ve lost the plot. And maybe in your next life you’ll be a queer woman of color, and your heart will be split open and shattered by the pain you have caused others simply for existing differently than you.

 

If you’re still with me, this is our call to overthrow the system. The 2010 Citizens United ruling that granted corporations the right of personhood and therefore protection of first amendment rights to free speech by allowing them unlimited donations to political campaigns and legislation needs to be reversed. This legalized bribery by calling it “free speech” and several bribery cases have been brought up since its implementation. It has allowed elected officials to pass legislation that goes against their constituents votes and support. This alone loudly illustrates that it’s unconstitutional and destroying our democracy. Super PACs and the even worse 501c4’s, untraceable non-disclosed corporate contributions (dark money), must be prohibited. No wealthy person or collective group should be able to buy an election like Musk did and Citizens United has been doing.

Elected officials at every level must be part of the working class and preferably not older white males because they’ve proven their track record is not trustworthy. Gerrymandering or drawing irregular shaped voting districts to benefit a political party need to be declared illegal. We need more than a two-party system so we really have a choice because voting for the lesser of two evils means there will still be evil at rule. Tax loopholes need to be closed, and estate or inheritance taxes raised. The financial elite need their wealth to be taxed, rather than merely their incomes because they’ve mastered reducing their income on paper to pay little to nothing. Corporations need to be held accountable and pay living wages including healthcare instead of profiting so obscenely and saying that paying living wages will make products and services unaffordable. What it really means is that CEO’s, executives, and shareholders need to make less that the multi-millions they’re taking home. There is plenty of wealth for us to prosper, but it will never happen if we don’t stop giving them carte blanche to control the political arena. In the meanwhile, we have a powerful asset in pushing back. We hurt them by not giving them our hard-earned dollars. Do not buy their products, shop on their sites or at their stores, eat at their establishments, rent or buy their properties, gamble in their casino’s or attend their events. Cutting their bottom dollar is the only way we can show them we’re fed up and will no longer support them in destroying the working class and trampling our basic human rights. Money talks and nothing speaks louder than when you take it away. Hit ‘em where it hurts, grab ‘em by the pursy.
